So many of you know that Ammon was involved in a pretty bad bike accident last Saturday. (Happy Mothers Day to me ... but enough of feeling sorry for myself ... specially since Ammon and the girls already had everything ready to spoil me before this accident happened.) He was doing a training ride on his racing bike at the Rosebowl. As he came off a particularly hilly portion of the loop, a fourteen year-old darted out in front of him, chasing a soccer ball. He could not stop in time and hit her squarely.
Looks like both Ammon and the girl are going to be o.k., but what a week it has been. I've had to dig out, from the depths of my brain, a little nursing-know-how. The photo below is fairly representative of the entire left side of Ammon's body. Add the bruising that has just begun to surface, and you can imagine my poor, gimp, hubby!
Update: Ammon is back in the ER this morning (Sunday) with a rock-hard lump the size of a grapefruit in his abdomen. Preliminary thought is an abscess from the abdominal wall bleed last week. Trauma surgeon is consulting on MRI results.
Further update. Diagnosed large hematoma, possible hernia underneath. Will follow-up with primary care doc in a few days to see what is happening.

Puke! Thanks for the reminder as to why I didn't go into nursing. Poor Ammon. Ahhh, poor you!
OOOOHHHHH! Ammon I hope you are getting better. That looks miserable!
