Dental 911

Today has not been a good day.  Went to the dentist to have two cavities filled.  They were both under old fillings, so they ended up being pretty deep.  It went well, all things considered, until Dr. Evil's dental assistant put the impression material in my mouth to get the forms for the crowns.  After a minute, she said "open."  I tried.  "Open." I tried again.  My mouth was entirely cemented shut.

Brilliant assistant forgot that I have braces on my bottom teeth.  Brackets + impression material.  Kind of like rebar and concrete.

"Uh .... I better go get the doctor."  Dr. Evil came in and after the two of them pulled and tugged, the mold finally came out ... along with half of the brackets that were cemented to my teeth.   Amazingly, teeth stayed in.

Needing Advil, a pillow and a little March Madness ...

Wow- that just solidified my extreme dislike for dentists... and I thought I had bad experiences. I sincerely hope your visit was free :)

AAAHHH! My friend was at the dentist and they dropped the bracket that they use for cavities and she aspirated it. Spent the rest of the day in the ER getting bronched. They wonder why people are afraid of them!!!

Oh my goodness - that is terrible. What did you say to the assistant that made her mad enough to litterally glue your mouth shut?

Oh that sucks!!! I am sure she was afraid to go to her car alone after you got through with her!
