Three and a half of one; one half of the other ...

Today is Ava and Senya's half birthday.  Since they share the same birthday, we figured that we might as well celebrate their half birthdays too ... any reason for a celebration and cake, right? I took this picture of them tonight as they were reading before bed.  Needless to say, no one was in the mood for pictures, so this is the best we could get.

Senya, aka "Smiley" because she is the the cheekiest, happiest baby I know, has her six month appointment, so I'll be posting her stats later.  But, let me just say, she is getting big!  I've had to retire the Babylegs due to concerns over the circulation to the hamhock regions.  In other news, on Friday, Ava had her finger chomped on by Senya's first sharp little tooth.  After the initial shock, Ava was quite pleased to have been the one to make that momentous discovery.   Senya is also sitting up and doing that commando crawl thing all over the house.  I'll be sitting on the couch and she'll be playing and suddenly, I'll feel this tug-tug-tug on my pant leg.   I look down and there she is with a huge smile across her face.  She is loving pears, not so hot with the peas --- but have you tried the peas?  Can't say I blame her.

This week, Ava's school was closed for MLK day.  Ammon and I took the day off and spent a special day with Ava.  We went to Kidspace and had a picnic.   It was a perfect day.  Sometimes I am taken back a little bit when I see that little hand or fold a little t-shirt and realize that she is only 3 1/2 because she occupies such a big part of my heart.  Currently, she is into playing "teacher," singing and dancing (she loves to shake her "turkey" as she calls it and play guitar with Ammon --- she knows every word to John Denver's Leavin' on a Jet Plane), cracking eggs, drawing pictures, and doing her own hair (oh, help me).
