Christmas 2008

So I know that blogging about Christmas after New Years is like wearing white after Labor Day, but as with many things these days, I am a little behind the eight ball.  To top it off, I am looking through my hand full of pictures and realize that we didn't take any of our actual Christmas festivities, like opening presents, eating dinner, rocking out on Guitar Hero and Rock Band II, etc. Lame, I know.  But the video camera was running most of the week, so at least we'll have some proof that Santa came and Senya did get to experience her first Christmas.

Our original plan was to fly to Seattle since prior to having kids, we had implemented a "3-year rotation" for Christmas:  Seattle, Fillmore, home.  The problem is that with 2 kids, flights are pretty expensive and we figured that four tickets to Seattle would be a little out of our budget.  Luckily, Ammon's mom agreed to come to our house for Christmas, so we did get to spend it with about a third of Ammon's family --- Bente, Luke & Marlo and Jessica.  It was so much fun.

Ava never had the nerve to actually talk to the big man himself about what she wanted, so when she saw the doll house on Christmas morning, she could not believe it.  It was so cute when she asked, "how did Santa know that I wanted this??"  Senya was happy as a clam with the prunes and bananas in her stocking.  Here's to wishing they will always be so easy to please!

Ammon and I got a new dishwasher and it will be installed tomorrow.  I cannot wait as I sit here listening to our old one rev like a back-firing Harley.
Hope you all had very a Merry Christmas!!!

Update:  found a couple of Christmas-y photos from our trip to Utah!  YAY!

Yay! WAAHOOO! You know you've hit the good life when you get appliances as gifts! I define the good life as, any time you can spend money (so what if its on stuff you need instead of want)

I heard you guys all had a blast in Fillmore!
