There is a reason I love the Pasadena triathlon ... because the swim is in the pool. Nice, 84 degree, chlorinated, clear, fish-free water. Unlike Ammon's triathlon this weekend where the mile swim looked like this:

Can you believe that? And if there is one thing about Ammon, he NEVER quits. He battled those waves until he beat them, while many of the other athletes either gave up or didn't even try. And then he followed it up with a 25 mile bike and a 6.4 mile run. It is a dang good think that I wasn't there to see those waves. I would have gotten on the bull horn yelling: "Mr. Dorny, report back to the black Volvo immediately ... Mr. Dorny, you had better not get in that water..." But, having not seen the danger he was in, and knowing it all turned out fine, I am so proud of him!
The reason I wasn't there to watch Ammon was that I had my own race going on. Not great planning on that one. The babysitter arrived at 6:00 a.m. Other than my little panic attack in the lake, I had a pretty good race. Lots of improvement needed on that swim before I attempt any ocean event ... April is quite a long way out, right?

I'm sitting here with my jaw dropped open. People do that? I want to see pictures from yours.
What in the heck!!! Wow go Ammon!!
If I had seen that I would have cried and gone home (not that I race, but still you know what I mean) What an awesome accomplishment!
