Ava had her school dance recital last weekend. This dance program is the best. The dance instructor comes every Thursday and pulls the kids out of the classroom for 30 minutes or so. Such a smart business model ... capitalizing on working mommy guilt.
I am always a little surprised when I see how well Ava dances ... it must be the genes from Grandma Geri. For the recital, the kids did their warm-ups, some gymnastics tricks (Ava did a handstand), a ballet number, a pairs dance, and two jazz numbers. Here are some pics of "At the Hop!"

Ava hates a wedgey, so we had to go with the Dora panties --- even if they hung out a little.

Like the carrot nose at her Christmas program, she had some technical difficulties with the sun glasses which kept falling down. But she didn't miss a beat!

Ava and Georgia in the pairs dance. (There are only three boys in the class). I think I've mentioned it before, but Georgia's dad is an actor on Greys Anatomy. She and Ava were quite the performers.

The finale. Good job Ava!

Fun stuff! I love dance recitals and school programs. Now if I can just remember to charge my camera the night before. I always have a full battery the day AFTER I need it - ugh!
