Over the river and through the woods ...

The girls and I spent the last week in Fillmore visiting my family.  What a fun time we had!  Kristen and her family and Brian and his family were there too.  (We missed you Kellie!!)  Ammon missed his girls so much that he surprised us by driving to Fillmore (600 miles one way) for the long Labor Day weekend.

Here is a list of the some of the highlights. (I love making lists!)
1.  Helping Grandma and Grandpa do chores.  Ava was paid for her help in four wheeler rides on the whoop-de-doos.  Look out for the trees!
2.  Learning that the two white kitties will land on their feet every time they are launched 10 feet into the air. (Calm down all of you PETA folks, Ava made a lot of progress with being nice to all animals by the end of the week.)
3.  Making friends with Scooter Jackson.
4.  Reading Fancy Nancy with Allysa.
5.  Going to the playground with Jace and filling baggies and jars with cool rocks.
6.  Being interviewed by 20 3rd Graders in Grandma Geri's class.
7.  Pulling my skirt down as Ava got embarrassed and hid behind me (oh yeah,  I should mention that I was holding two heavy lunch trays filled with our lunch and was talking to Mr. Johnson, one of my 1st Grade teachers ... ughhh)
8.   Riding Danny Boy bareback.
9.   Jumping on the bounce-o-line with Rusti for hours at a time.
10.  Swimming in Grandma's hot tank (hot tub).
11.  Catching a GIGANTIC trout.
12.  Playing the Wii with Rusti.  She and Ava the boxing game and after each punch would apologize to each other ... how cute is that?
13.  Escaping the line of fire at Duane's Food Town.  ( It's o.k. mom, we won't bring that up the next time you tell us how dangerous LA is).
14.  Picking a watermelon out of the garden and eating the whole thing with Grandpa.
15.  Being there when Dolly Llama had her baby llama.  Ava named him Alvin after Alvin and the Chipmunks.
16.  Planning the Pasadena Triathlon with Kristen.  We're serious about this Kel, so you better be runnin'
17.  Jumping off the sand banks at the sand dunes.
18.  Doing the turkey dance during my 189 bowling game on the Wii.
19.  Watching my mom clear the room with her PBA bowling technique.
20.  Putting together hygiene kits for humanitarian aide at Enrichment Night.
21.  Sitting with Brian at the North Park and chatting about life --- just like the good ol' days.  And riding on the back of the four wheeler as he drove much more cautiously than he used to.
22.  Sorting through baby clothes with Kristen since Senya has already grown out of her newborn and 0-3 month clothes and realizing that some of them have been worn by our four cute little girls.
23.  Hanging with Ra and Alexus at the beginning of our trip.
24.  Visiting with Grandma Child,  Aunt Pat, Uncle Steve, Jeff, Jessica and Camile at the end of the trip.
25.  Getting together with Kristine and Cheryl to watch a bunch of old VHS tapes from high school.  I haven't laughed or cried that much in a long time.  I miss my old amigas.
26.  Camile's marshmellow brownies.
27.  Mom's homemade fruit beer.  (or root beer if you ask anyone other than Ava.)
28.  Deano's hot ham and olive sandwhiches.
29.  Mark's alfredo.
30.  Just being home.

We had a great time.  Thanks Mom and Dad!

Isn't going to Grandma's and Grandpas the BEST!! I loved the one about the cats. I am NOT a cat person, but even I could have taken one of those home. They are the nicest cats I have ever seen.
