Beautiful Newport

I've said that we could never live at the beach because of my hair.  I've officially changed my mind.  Newport Beach is one of our favorite places on earth and after spending another week there, Ammon and I have decided that we might have to move.  I am sure someone makes a super-duper anti-frizz, anti-fuzzy something that would work.

While there, Ammon did the Newport Coast triathlon.  The race was a total of 15 1/2 miles (1/2 mile ocean swim, 12 mile bike, and 3 mile run).  In an effort to get the girls in the stroller and walk the 2 miles from the parking lot to the starting line, I left the camera in the car.  So, the only picture we have is after the race.  He was AWESOME!

I am finally able to start exercising, so I used this trip as a jump start to getting back in shape.  My goal is to do the Pasadena Triathlon in April.  You would think that seven months is sufficient time to be ready, but after going for a few runs, it will be close.   I am getting Twitter set up on the left to track my progress.

As you can see, we spent lots of time at Crystal Cove beach and at the pool. We went to all of our favorite restaurants.  If you are ever there, we recommend The Heidleberg Bakery, The Beachcomber, and The Beach House.   We got to hang with Luke, Marlo & Aidan on Thursday, BBQing and making smores.  On Friday, spent time with Rick & Tam.  We took a boat out in the harbor and BBQ'd.  Rick ships out to Iraq for a year, so it was really nice to hang out with them.  Rick kicked my seven week post-pardum trash in basketball - thought I would let him have a little victory over me to build him up for his deployment.  ;)

Ammon and I kept with tradition by going a couple of rounds of Dance Dance Revolution in the arcade :)  Nate & Juliann, we have our moves on for our next trip to Seattle!

Holy cow - The memories come rushing back from last year at New Port with you. If you move to New Port - I'll move too. It truly is Heaven on Earth. At least there at the Merriot and Crystal Cove beach and the BBQ's and and and..... I am definitely having envy pains. I'm glad you had such a good time - it's hard not to though huh.
